A snowboarder was sentenced Monday in Eagle County District Court to one year of probation and 75 hours of community service for colliding with an 8-year-old skier on Vail Mountain.
DENVER (AP) - Eight people were rescued after a huge avalanche knocked two cars off a mountain pass on the main highway to one of the state's largest ski areas and buried them, authorities said.
Ski tans are in and skiing is big business. Last year, just the State of Colorado enjoyed a record 12.53 million skiing days and took in some 2.5 billion dollars, and they are expecting even more this skiing season. That is big and still growing.
If your kids have skied before you may know the skis appropriate for them and make the reservations before hand. If you are skiing during a holiday of high skier count, you should ask about reserving skis and equipment. Also, some ski resorts will take reservations for group lessons. You should make reservations for your private lessons in advance to assure your lessons.
